RE: 1st Newsletter

Welcome to the 13 Week Pennsylvania Power Ball Pool – Game Two.

Before I tell you about your game, let me tell you that Game One won $23.00. Juanita Brown, who picked up your tickets, did the same for Game One, and while she was in Pennsylvania, she cashed in their tickets and purchased your tickets.

So right off the bat, know that I have two Pennsylvania Power Ball Pools running, so if you hear that someone in Pennsylvania won Power Ball, while it could be you, it could also be Game One.

Mind you they only have one ticket, after Wednesday, and their game will end before yours. But you only need to have one line to win any lottery.

Your game will start on Wednesday October 10th, 2007 and your last drawing is scheduled for Saturday January 5th, 2008. See, this will be a long game.

I was able to collect $312.00. Each share cost $26.00. If you divide $312 by 26, you get 12. This is the number of shares this game has issued. Your game has two more shares that Game One.

I will not tell you the horror story of Game One. But I will tell you that Group had a different set of numbers for each draw. The Clerk who sold Juanita the tickets, wanted to do it his way. Which I think he made more work for himself.

As far as running a Lottery Pool, it was a nightmare, with all those tickets, and it was like having a New Quick in every drawing. I’m not sure it makes a difference, because after all it’s a lottery pool. But, you never can get attached to your numbers, you never know immediately of you won, because you can’t remember any of your numbers.

Juanita Brown got this group 6 lines for 26 drawings. Unlike Game One, this game is a Power Play Game. This is my first game using Power Play in Power Ball.

How to Play

Powerball is a lotto game which is a combined large jackpot game and a cash game. Every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time, we draw five white balls out of a drum with 55 balls and one red ball out of a drum with 42 red balls.

Players win by matching one of the 9 Ways to Win. The jackpot (won by matching all five white balls in any order and the red PowerBall) is either an annuitized prize paid out over 29 years (30 payments) or a lump sum payment. Each ticket costs $1. If the winner chooses the annuity, the annual payment will be increased each year by the percentage set out in the Powerball game rules.

The second prize (won by matching five white balls in any order) is $200,000 paid in cash and any time you match the red PowerBall, you win. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game are better than 1 in 37.

Power Play is a special feature that allows a winner to multiply the original prize amount. Powerball players can multiply their Powerball prizes by 2,3,4 or 5 times (does not include the jackpot). We pick the Power Play multiplier number, at random before each draw. A player must choose the Power Play option when they buy their Powerball ticket, and then the ticket must match one of the non-jackpot prizes before the multiplier takes effect.

Power Play is slightly different from Megaply we do in Mega Millions. Power Play can pay up to 5 times more of any winnings. If we win, we will always at least double our wins, because we Power Played!

There are nine ways to win in Powerball, return to your Powerball retailer or Lottery headquarters for validation of your tickets.

Match 5 Bonus Prize

Whenever the Powerball jackpot reaches a record level, the amount of the jackpot prize is limited to increases for each draw of no more than $25 million. The prize money collected in excess of the maximum $25 million increase, will be placed into the Match 5 Bonus prize pool and will accumulate until there is a jackpot winner. When there is a jackpot winner, the Match 5 Bonus prize pool will be divided equally among all winners of the Match 5 prize. The prize will be paid in one cash lump sum.

The Match 5 Bonus prize is in addition to any Power Play prizes that may be won. The Match 5 Bonus prize is not multiplied. A Match 5 winner who also played the Power Play option will win the original $200,000, the amount paid under the Power Play multiplier option, and the new Match 5 Bonus effective bonus prize. Consider the following scenario: A player matches the five white numbers, another player hits the jackpot by matching all five white numbers plus the red Powerball, MUSL draws the Power Play number "4", and there is $385,000 available for each Match 5 winner as an additional Match 5 Bonus prize for the drawing. This player would then win $200,000 (the original Match 5 prize) + $600,000 (the extra monies created from the Power Play) + $385,000 (the actual Match 5 Bonus) for a total of $1,185,000. Put another way, the player has his $200,000 prize multiplied by 4, and then he also receives the additional $385,000 Match 5 Bonus prize.

Although it is unlikely, it is possible that no Match 5 winner will exist for a drawing where the jackpot is won and in where a Match 5 Bonus Prize pools exists. In this case, the Match 5 Bonus prize pool will be paid out to the Match 4+1 winners.

Okay, after reading all of that, I understand Power Ball a little more, and I understand how they play Power Play.

Here are your numbers for the entire game:

Now I copied this information from http://www.palottery.state.pa.us/

How to Claim a Prize:

Take your winning ticket to a Pennsylvania Lottery Numbers Games retailer to validate. The retailer is required to pay valid prizes up to and including $2,500 per ticket. If winnings are over $600, you must complete a claim form. You must also file a claim form for any winning ticket older than 180 days.

Jackpot and match 5 prizes must be claimed at Lottery Headquarters in Middletown, PA.

It is interesting that if we win $600 any retailer can pay out, but $601 would require a trip to the Lottery Headquarters. This is a little different. In Texas, I can only get $599 from Kroger, it my wins are $600 or more, and then I need to go to the Claim Center.

While I did read the Pennsylvania Web Site, I was not able to determine if we need an attorney if we should win. Many states allow multiple winners on a single ticket.

Now I talk to many people about the lottery across this nation. And I think this is information is correct: Most likely we all can claim or portion with Pennsylvania without the aid of attorney. However our names and addresses will appear on their web site and newspapers across the nation.

If we form a Trust Fund, then we may be able to avoid the Pennsylvania State Tax. And most importantly our names and address will never appear anywhere. Our Trust Fund’s name will be published.

Pennsylvania is very generous with the time you can claim your prize. We get up to 1 year to claim our prize!

We have no members in this group living in Pennsylvania. We have people in Ohio, Virginia, and Georgia besides Texas. So it will take this group longer to claim the prize than normal.

Juanita Brown purchased these tickets and retains them. All of us, including me, only have scan copies. If we win, I know that Juanita has lots of contacts in Pennsylvania and she will help us. She helps me on my Die Hard Game a lot.

Mac Almond lives in Austin, Texas and he maintains my lottery pools spreadsheets. You will be getting e-mails from Mac with access to our spreadsheet on the web. Mac generally knows before me if we have any wins.

Now if we win, I will NOT be calling everyone. I will do an update as normal. And I’m NOT going feel pressured to get our money as quick as possible. Power Ball goes from $15 to $100 Million within one month. So we will see our Jack Pot rise (unless we have a winner) after every draw. We have both Quick Picks and Selected Numbers in this game. And I’ve already told you that it’s a Power Play game.

Please please, don’t tell everyone you know that we won, after I tell you that we won. I do have one paper copy newsletter in this game, and it’s important you do not share your newsletter with anyone.

I tell you this because I was checking out www.powerball.com and found that Louisiana wins a lot, Missouri has won, and Kentucky. Oklahoma has just joined PowerBall last year and they already have had two winners!

Pennsylvania won twice in 2005, but no Jack Pot winner in 2 years. So maybe it’s time for them to win. And when I say “them” I mean “us”.

I told Game One wrong. I thought the last winner in Pennsylvania was on: Kathleen, Karen & Janet, Pennsylvania on January 22, 2005 Cash $14,734,333.80

But I was wrong. The last winner was: Bob & Patty MacZura

Pennsylvania March 16, 2005 Cash $10,166.550.04

But still that is over 2 years since Pennsylvania has produced a Jack Pot winner.

In Wednesday Night’s drawing the Jack Pot is worth $20 Million. The Cash Option is worth $9,400,000.00. There were 12 shares issued in this game. I will divide the Cash Option by 12 and your portion in posted in the chart below.

Okay, this concludes your newsletter. On this first newsletter I’m attaching your tickets and your membership list. (Your membership list in this game is always available to you on the web.)
